This class is held virtually on the learning platform, Livestorm. Originally, this was a 2-day, in-person class but is now split into 4 sessions offered quarterly with multiple topics covered in each. You may attend the sessions in any order. Registering for Session 1 does not automatically enroll you in all sessions.
Who Should Attend: While anyone may attend, this course is designed for WIC breastfeeding staff and health professionals in similar roles who counsel breastfeeding mothers and would like to improve problem-solving and counseling skills. The class emphasizes critical thinking. This is an intermediate level course and is activity oriented. You will work through case studies and activities as a group. Be prepared to join the discussions and share your ideas and experiences with others in class.
Topics for this session include Advanced Lactation Equipment, NICU Lactation Counseling, and Pediatric Complications.
