Lactation Principles (in-person)

October 8, 2024, 8:00 AM – October 8, 5:00 PM

Space is very limited so be sure to get approval from your supervisor and block off the time on your schedule prior to registering.

Class Time: 8am-5pm Central Time

Who Should Attend: This is a basic level course that focuses on the counseling skills needed to provide optimal breastfeeding support to clients. The course will enable attendees to strengthen their problem solving and critical thinking skills through case studies and other activities in small group settings. While open to anyone, this course is best suited for WIC staff and other professionals in similar non-medical settings (i.e. Nurse Family Partnership, Early Childhood Intervention). There will be no written handouts or syllabus so you can focus on activities.

Class Details:

Sign in and light breakfast* begins at 7:30am
Class begins promptly at 8am and lasts until 5pm
Lunch is provided*

Minimum # Required: ~30

Pre-Requisite: none

Parking: Free and plentiful.

* Food Allergies: Please include any food allergies in the Additional Info section. (Ex: ALLERGY: ORANGES) We will do our best to accommodate but if your diet is very restrictive, please plan to bring your own food/snacks to consume throughout the day.

Registration closes 10 days prior to class.

Continuing Education:

This event is "all or none." There is no partial credit awarded and no opportunity to make up any missed time. Contact hours are awarded for a variety of disciplines. Check under "Files" for details.

Requirements for Successful Completion

Submit a completed evaluation.
